Over 20,000 spectators gathered in the athlete
village to watch opening ceremonies. After meeting and
shaking hands with President Bush, over 3,000 athletes from
around the world marched into the village and up on stage.
Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner announced each country and
fireworks were set off for each country. |

Bianca fell in love with the wooden clogs that the Holland
athletes wore during opening ceremonies. Her coach, Terry,
traded his Cleveland USA jacket with this athlete from
Holland to get Bianca the wooden clogs. Yes, he spoils her
tremendously!! |
