Courtney McCool joined the Georgia gymnastics team in the fall of 2006 following graduation from Lee's Summit North High School and a successful elite career at Great American Gymnastics Express in Blue Springs, Missouri. To Georgia, Courtney brought her trademark form and technique, a difficult repertoire of skills, determination and hard work. These same qualities earned her a spot on the 2004 US Olympic Team where the US won a silver medal. At Georgia,  Courtney is just as determined to help her team stay ahead of the competition. In her freshman year, she earned three first place finishes on beam and five on floor. Her season high on both events was a 9.950 - only a half tenth from perfection. She contributed greatly to Georgia's success as SEC Runner-ups, North Central Regional Champions, and NCAA National Champions. She hopes to continue to be an asset to Georgia in her three future seasons as a Gym Dog.

July 15, 2007: A brief update on Courtney's summer training has been added. She has been consistently training on beam and floor, as well as bars for the first time since her wrist surgery two years ago. She will compete on the event for the first time at Georgia this spring!
