July 18, 2005 - Both animations and videos from the 2005 NCAA Super Six Finals are up! There are also new pictures from 2004 US Nationals and Olympic Trials. July 11, 2005 - Tomorrow Katie and the rest of the Gym Dogs will be at the White House to meet President Bush! The event will be covered by CNN, so check your local listings. May 24, 2005 - Katie will be gracing the cover of the next Inside Gymnastics magazine! There are a couple days left to subscribe for the May/June issue; visit the Inside Gymnastics website for more information. April 24, 2005 - UGA: 2005 NCAA Champions!! In Friday night's Super Six Finals, Katie helped lead the Gym Dogs to their sixth NCAA title! She scored no lower than a 9.9 on any event to earn the highest all-around total of the night: 39.725! Alabama finished second and Utah third. Click here for full results! April 16, 2005 - New pictures from last year's US Nationals Championships have been added. There are also new pictures from 2005 UGA vs. Utah and UGA vs. Alabama. In less than a week, the Gym Dogs will be in Alabama for NCAA Championships! The competition begins on Thursday evening (April 21) at 7PM. Their session also includes NYU, Alabama, Florida, Iowa State, and UCLA with the top three teams advancing to Finals on Friday. Georgia is ranked 5th in the nation, and Katie is the only freshman in the country ranked in the top 25 on four events, including the all-around! April 10, 2005 - Georgia qualified to the NCAA Championships yesterday, finishing second at Regionals! Katie scored a 38.35 in the all-around with her highest score coming in on vault with a 9.85. The 2005 NCAA Championships will take place in two weeks in Auburn, Alabama! April 1, 2005 - Georgia: 2005 SEC Champions Congratulations to Katie and the Gym Dogs, who had a great competition at the Southeastern Conference Championships this past weekend in Duluth, GA! Katie helped lead Georgia to the team title and also earned the all-around title with a career high 39.625. This also sets a new record high for UGA gymnastics! The competition will be aired on the Fox Sports Network, Sunday April 3rd at 1PM. Pictures from the competition have been added to Katie's photo gallery. February 8, 2005 - Many pictures have been added to Katie's photo gallery, thanks to Kevin & David Knoef! The Gym Dogs have two meets coming up this weekend. They will compete at LSU on Friday and then at Oklahoma on Sunday. You can follow along at UGA's website and catch the LSU meet on Fox Sports Net at 6PM Saturday February 19th! February 5, 2005 - Yesterday the Gym Dogs faced their first defeat of the season, losing to Florida by only 0.125. Despite a fall on bars, Katie had a very good meet, including a career high 9.925 on floor (1st place). Pictures from the meet have been added. January 30, 2005 - Katie and the Gym Dogs began the season with a win at the Super Six Challenge and have not been defeated since! UGA is currently ranked sixth in the nation; individually, Katie is 31st in the nation, 3rd in the South East region, and 7th in the South East Conference. Katie's website has been updated with pictures and results from January's competitions and more information can be found on UGA's website or the NCAA gymnastics website. UGA's next meet is on February 4th as they face Florida at home. December 15, 2004 - UGA's 2005 Gymnastics Sneak Peek took place this past weekend! Katie did very well, with some of the top scores on vault (full twisting Yurchenko - 9.95), bars (stuck double front dismount - 9.95), and floor (music from Chicago - 9.9)! Her only mistake was a fall on beam (9.4). A few pictures from the event have been added to Katie's photo gallery! November 26, 2004 - Happy Birthday, Katie! Today is her 19th birthday! November 12, 2004 - Katie's guestbook is back up and running! September 20, 2004 - Katie has begun her freshman year at UGA! A message from her has been posted on UGA's website, and her schedule is up as well! September 8, 2004 - Katie will be doing a chat with GymnZone.com tomorrow night! July 31, 2004 - New pictures from Nationals and Olympic Trials are up! July 1, 2004 - Katie was in Anaheim for the Olympic Trials last week, but was unable to finish the competition due to back pain. She has been asked to attend the Olympic Selection Camp in July as an athlete representative, where she will support and help the girls going for an Olympic spot. Katie is greatly honored to have this responsibility and wishes all the girls best of luck! June 23, 2004 - The 2004 Olympic Trials begin this weekend in Anaheim, California! There are two days of competition - prelims on Friday and finals on Sunday. The top two all-around finishers are guaranteed a spot on the Olympic Team, pending verification of readiness at the July selection camp. Between nine and eleven other qualifiers to the selection camp will also be determined after Trials. NBC will air prelims on Saturday June 26th at 8pm eastern time, and finals will be aired live from California at 7pm on Sunday June 27th. June 21, 2004 - More pictures from this year's Nationals have been added! June 18, 2004 - Katie will be replacing injured Nicole Harris at next weekend's 2004 Olympic Trials. This is an important meet in determined who goes on to July's selection camp to determine the 2004 Olympic Team. June 16, 2004 - More pictures from this year's Nationals have been added! June 7, 2004 - Katie competed in her sixth and final US National Championships this past week in Nashville, Tennessee. Though she just missed earning a spot to compete at Olympic Trials, she did make her seventh US National Team, the strongest and deepest team the US has ever produced. Katie also earned a medal for 4th place on bars with a 9.475 in prelims. A few pictures have been added and videos will be up soon.
May 31, 2004 - Katie will be competing in Nashville this week for the 2004 US National Championships! Prelims and event finals take place on Thursday and all-around finals are on Saturday. The top 12 gymnasts make the National Team and automatically qualify for the 2004 Olympic Trials. April 28, 2004 - Pictures from Pacific Alliance Championships are up! April 19, 2004 - Katie is the 2004 Pacific Alliance Bars Champion! She scored a 9.712 in yesterday's event finals! April 17, 2004 - Katie helped the US to a team gold medal at last night's Pacific Alliance Championships! She had an all-around total of over 37 points with a 9.366 on vault, 9.516 on bars, over a 9.5 on beam, and a 9.138 on floor! The US only used her bar score, however, so the other three events only count as exhibition routines. Katie qualified in first place to event finals in bars, which will take place later today. Congratulations Katie and team USA! April 15, 2004 - A new article is up from the Times Community Newspaper. April 14, 2004 - New pictures from 2004 American Classic have been added. There are also pictures from the recent national training camp up on Inside Gymnastics. April 12, 2004 - Katie has been chosen to represent the US at the 2004 Pacific Alliance Championships! She and Carly Patterson, Allyse Ishino, and Alicia Sacramone will face some of the top gymnasts from countries bordering the Pacific Ocean, including Austrailia, Canda, China, Japan, Korea, and Mexico. Competition begins this Friday with the team and all-around competition, and event finals are on Saturday. April 1, 2004 - New pictures from 2003 Podium Meet and 2003 US Nationals are up! March 29, 2004 - Katie was in Ukraine this past weekend for the 2004 Stella Zakharova Cup! After the first day of competition, she qualified for all four event finals. She won the bronze medal on beam, and US teammate Nicole Harris won the bronze on bars and silver on beam. Complete results and pictures will hopefully be available soon! March 8, 2004 - Katie won the all-around title at the 2004 American Classic held last weekend in California! She also tied for the gold on bars with world champion Hollie Vise! Full results are available here and videos have been added as well. Congratulations Katie! February 26, 2004 - Katie has been chosen to represent the United States in March's Stella Zakharova Cup. The competition takes place in Kiev, Ukraine March 24th - 29th. Katie will be on NBC's Today Show tomorrow! The show begins at 7AM; Katie was told they will be on around 8:15. A complete list of the competitors can be found here. November 12, 2003 - Katie signed her letter of intent to compete for the University of Georgia on a gymnastics scholarship next fall! She was the 2001 world bronze medalist on that event, and she looks better than ever." - Marta Karolyi November 2, 2003 - After a strong showing at the national training camp this past weekend, Katie has been chosen to represent the US at the DTB World Cup in Germany later this month! Also representing the US are Ashley Postell and Sarah Shire. Katie's scores at camp included a 9.8 on bars and 9.65 on beam! She also debuted a new floor routine. Congratulations Katie!!! Her new routine, which starts from a 10.0, was the best of the night. It scored a 9.5 and tied her with Tasha Schwikert for the gold medal on the event! Because she has only been training routines for about a week, she competed only on bars and beam both of which she had a few problems on. Katie is now training for US Classic where she will compete on bars and possibly beam as well!
